Roll-swage-free eye terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire rope so that the rope can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to tension a structure, or architecturally for display purposes. Additionally, they can be used to tension a mast in a so-called stay to stabilize the mast and thereby the boat.
Terminals are typically roll-swaged onto the steel wire rope, meaning the terminal is crimped around the steel wire rope using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-swage-free terminals, you don't need a special tool. Instead, unscrew the terminal, place the wire rope, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire rope.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures its products from a single block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds, and thus their products can withstand extra load.
