Roll-formed eye terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to hold the end of a steel wire so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to brace a construction, or architecturally for display purposes. Additionally, they can be used to brace a mast in a so-called stay to stabilize the mast and thereby the boat.
Terminals are usually roll-formed around the steel wire, i.e., the terminal is compressed around the steel wire using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-free terminals, you do not need to use a special tool. Instead, unscrew the terminal, place the wire, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire.
