Roll-swaged stainless steel fork terminal from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to secure a structure, or architecturally for exhibition purposes. In addition, they can be used to tension a mast in a stay to stabilize the mast and thus the boat.
Terminals are usually roll-swaged around the steel wire, meaning the terminal is crimped around the steel wire using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-swageless terminals, no special tool is needed. Instead, unscrew the terminal, place the wire, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures its products from a block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds, and thus their products can withstand extra loads.
