Roll-swage fork terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to brace a structure, or architecturally for exhibition purposes. In addition, they can be used to tension a mast in a stay to stabilize the mast and thus the boat.
Terminals are usually roll-swaged around the steel wire, meaning the terminal is crimped around the steel wire using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-swage-free terminals, you don't need to use a special tool. Instead, unscrew the terminal, insert the wire, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures its products from a single block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds, and thus their products can withstand extra load.
