Roll-swage free fork terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to hold the end of a steel wire rope so that the wire rope can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to brace a construction, or architecturally for display purposes. Additionally, they can be used to brace a mast in a stay to stabilize the mast and thus the boat.
Terminals are usually roll-swaged around the steel wire rope, meaning the terminal is crimped around the steel wire rope using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-swage free terminals, there is no need for a special tool. Instead, unscrew the terminal, insert the wire rope, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire rope.
