Roll-swaged fork terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to hold the end of a steel wire rope so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to brace a structure, or architecturally for exhibition purposes. In addition, they can be used to tension a mast in a stay to stabilize the mast and thus the boat.
Terminals are usually roll-swaged around the steel wire rope, i.e., the terminal is pressed around the steel wire rope using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-swageless terminals, you don't need to use a special tool. Instead, unscrew the terminal, insert the wire, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire rope.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures its products from a block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds, and thus their products can withstand extra stress.
