Stainless steel eye terminal from Blue Wave. A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to brace a structure, or architecturally for exhibition purposes. In addition, they can be used to tension a mast in a stay to stabilize the mast and thus the boat. The terminals are swaged onto the steel wire, meaning the terminal is crimped around the steel wire using a tool to secure it to an anchor point. Danish company Blue Wave manufactures its products from a single block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds and thus their products can withstand extra loads.
