To transfer the engine's power to the ship's propulsion with as little vibration and noise as possible, the correct size of engine mounts should be used.
Shore indicates the hardness of the dampener. 55 is usually suitable for most engine installations, but there may be situations where a softer or harder mount is desired.
If necessary, talk to an engine expert about which hardness is suitable for your boat.
Calculate which mounts to use:
When calculating which mounts to use, consider where the center of gravity in the engine is located. Often, 2 sets with different hardness are needed. Include the weight of the entire installation including oil and water, and choose mounts that are slightly too soft rather than too hard.
How to choose the size of the mounts:
Engine 125 kg, 4 legs (125x2): 4 = 62.5 kg
