Mounts easily and in a flash onto the rope, which doesn't require a free end but only minimal slack. Suitable for ropes up to 20 mm (and also straps). Made from a weather-resistant rubber-like material, with extremely good stretch properties, which returns to its shape without losing elasticity.
The size of the boat determines how many Bungys are needed on each line. A large boat needs more Bungys than a smaller boat.
Bungy also functions as an excellent shock absorber on the mainsheet. No problems with violent jerks and bangs when gybing. No problems with jerks during a downwind run in choppy seas. Benefits when sailing close-hauled in gusty winds. Removed in seconds before racing.
Recommendation for a 9 m boat:
- Permanent mooring: 4 - 5 Bungys
- Temporary mooring: 2 - 3 Bungys
- Mainsheet: 2 Bungys
