Magnification/lens 7x50 The image is seven times larger than what the naked eye sees. 7x is the recommended magnification for marine binoculars. The second number, 50, indicates the diameter of the lens. The higher the number, the better the light incidence. This is an advantage in poor light conditions. A 50 mm lens is recommended for marine use. BaK-4 prism Barium prism material. It is excellent at transporting light and image from the lens, through the prisms to the eyepiece and out to the eye. BK-4 is an excellent quality optic. Field of view: 6.6 The field of view in degrees indicates the width of the image that can be seen at a distance of 1000 metres.
