Yacht flags with golden, embroidered letters YF. The swallowtail flag is made from the market's strongest woven flag fabric, 170 g/m². Delivered in a deep red madder red/naval red color. The yacht flag must be flown by all Danish pleasure boats and rowboats. Delivered in a nice fabric bag.
How is the flag's size calculated?
For flagpoles, it is calculated that the front edge of the flag should be 2/3 of the flagpole's height. The flag size is not subject to fixed rules, but we recommend these sizes.
History of the Yacht Flag
Royal Decree of August 15, 1865. Permission to hoist the pleasure boat flag, consisting of the Danish naval flag with the letters YF in gold in the upper field closest to the pole, is granted upon request by the Ministry of Marine Affairs, but only for decked vessels. The application, stamped for a tax of 65 øre, must be accompanied by the vessel's measurement certificate or nationality and registration certificate. The yacht flag does not give the vessel any advantage whatsoever regarding port and vessel fees. Permission to fly the yacht flag, which is only valid until the vessel changes ownership and must be kept on board and presented upon request by the relevant authorities, is forfeited when the vessel is not exclusively used as a pleasure boat. In 1957, the obligation to apply for permission to fly the yacht flag ceased.
