Roll-swaged free fork terminal in stainless steel from Blue Wave.
A terminal is used to secure the end of a steel wire so that the wire can only move in one direction. It can be used, for example, functionally to brace a structure, or architecturally for exhibition purposes. In addition, they can be used to brace a mast in a stay to stabilize the mast and thereby the boat.
Terminals are usually roll-swaged onto the steel wire, i.e., the terminal is pressed around the steel wire using a special tool to secure it to an anchor point.
With roll-swaged free terminals, you do not need to use a special tool. Instead, unscrew the terminal, insert the wire, and screw it back together to secure the steel wire.
Danish Blue Wave manufactures its products from a single block of stainless steel, meaning there are no welds, and thus their products can withstand extra load.
