Magnification/lens 7x50
The image is seven times larger than what the naked eye sees. 7x is the recommended magnification for marine binoculars.
The second number, 50, indicates the diameter of the lens. The higher the number, the better the light transmission. This is an advantage in poor light conditions. For marine use, a 50 mm lens is recommended.
BaK-4 prism
Barium prism material. Is excellent for transporting light and image from the lens, through the prisms to the eyepiece and out to the eye. BK-4 is an excellent quality optic.
Angle of view: 6.6º
The angle of view in degrees indicates the width of the image that can be seen at a distance of 1000 meters. An angle of view of 6.6º gives a width of 115 m at a distance of 1000 meters.
